Pooja Express which takes about 5 hours to reach Delhi from Jaipur was on Thursday running 5 hours late. The train 12413 Ajmer-Jammu Tawi Pooja Express, departs from Jaipur junction at 16:15 hours so as to reach Delhi by 21:55 hours.

However, on Thursday the railways informed that the train was expected to depart from Jaipur at 21:17 hours.

This is the time by which passengers who board the train actually reach Delhi. This enormous delay in the train schedule disturbed the travel plan of many people.

After they got the information of the 5-hour delay, many of the passengers got the tickets cancelled and looked for alternatives.

Though there are a few flights from Jaipur to Delhi during evening hours, the fares were as high as Rs 5000-Rs 6000 per person.

“We have got the reservation cancelled for this train and will now travel by bus. There is no use sitting and waiting for the train,” said a bank professional who was travelling to Delhi to attend a marriage function to be held on Friday.

As such the rush for the roadways buses and lo parivahan buses was seen for going to Delhi by the passengers. Sources informed that the reason for this delay was the arrival of 12414 Jammu-Tawi-Ajmer in Jaipur. This train came more than 6 hours late on Thursday owing to poor weather condition in north India

Apart from this train, 8 more trains were late due to weather conditions and many passengers who were not updated about the changed schedule were seen waiting for their respective trains at the platforms. Dibrugarh Lalgarh train was late by more than 14 hours while Marudhar Express which runs between Varanasi and Jodhpur was late by 3 hours apart from other trains.
