Rajasthan High Court has ordered the police to complete investigation in two months in the case registered for sloganeering and showing black flags to Prime Minister during his recent visit to Jhunjhunu. Justice K S Ahluwalia gave this order after a criminal petition was filed by Pappu Jat and 16 others.

The court has asked range IG to hand over investigation to additional SP level officer. The court instructed investigating officer to collect footage from government agencies and media to ascertain the role of the petitioners besides recording statements of independent eyewitnesses.

Lawyer for the petitioners Amit Punia told the court that his clients waived off black flags and shouted slogans for regularizing their service and 7th pay commission but it was peaceful demonstration yet after the public meeting local SP arrested them on charges of manhandling policemen and obstructing government job. The FIR was challenged on the ground that there was no CCTV or media footage of manhandling the policemen. There was no sign of injury. Thus Fir should be quashed.
