BJP still picking up the pieces of by-election defeat

To know the reasons for defeat in the Ajmer and Alwar Lok Sabha constituencies as well as the Mandalgarh assembly bypoll, the BJP held a second meeting on Saturday. In the by-elections review meeting held at the BJP headquarters on Saturday, the office bearers took responsiblity for the defeat. 

Organisation in-charges gave a report on the by-election defeat. It also said where the mistake was. After the defeat in the by-elections, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had called a meeting of the core group on Friday to review the results.

On Saturday,the National Joint Secretary (Organization) V. Satish, State President Ashok Parnami and General Secretary (Organization) Chandrasekhar were present at the meeting of the organization officials appointed for the by-election.

In the meeting, the assembly constituency in-charges, who were appointed in the areas of by-elections, were included in the meeting.After the meeting lasting for about two hours, the three top leaders met BJP media and social media cell officials.

Feedback was taken on by-elections in this meeting. According to sources, organization leaders in both meetings expressed dissatisfaction with the functioning of public representatives.

According to the sources,the organization’s in-charge said that the main reason for the byelection defeat is because legislators, ministers, jila pramukhs, urban body heads, councilors and UIT chairmen did not give importance to the workers.

There is resentment among the workers and the people in the style of functioning. This was the reason for the disappointing defeat. The organizers said that if the legislators and the people’s representatives worked in the by-elections with full enthusiasm, then maybe the situation would not have been so bad for the BJP. Some organization officials also said that the policies of the central government led to the defeat.

Party leaders said that demonetisation was welcomed by the people, but after the outcome of its results, there was displeasure all around. The traders’class turned against the BJP due to GST. Talking to the media after the meeting, State President Ashok Paranami said that a feedback had been taken with regard to the by-election defeat.
