The state BJP has started gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections that are slated to be held in December this year. The ruling party has started concentrating on strengthening its organisation by holding a Booth Formation Week from Sunday.

Under the scheme, senior BJP leaders will go to all assembly constituencies and verify the party's booth committees. In addition, the booth formation in-charge will also visit various polling booths of the Assembly area for one week and take the meeting of the party office.

The BJP had to face defeat in the recent by-elections of Alwar and Ajmer Lok Sabha and Mandalgarh Assembly constituency. In the by-election, the BJP got merely one or two votes in several polling booths even though the party has a 21-member executive in 51,000 polling booths across the state.

The Booth Formation Week has been started to verify the functioning of booths. For this work, 200 booth formation in-charges have been appointed in all 200 Assembly constituencies of the state.

The booth formation in-charges will go to allotted Assembly areas from May 20-27 and visit different booths. State BJP general secretary (organisation) Chandrasekhar has also embarked on a three-day tour of Dholpur and Sawai Madhopur districts. Chandrasekhar will take meetings of the organisation office bearers in Dholpur and Sawai Madhopur districts and monitor the work during Booth Formation Week. State secretary Mukesh Dadhich said that under this initiative, those in charge will meet senior workers of the Assembly constituency on May 20 and 21. Party workers will be given the charge of booth verification work. After this, from May 22-27, the in-charges will visit Mandal areas of the Assembly constituencies.

According to sources, during the one-week programme, the inactive office bearers of the party's organisation executive will be removed. In their place, others will be given a chance. Verification of all booths and Mandal units of the organisation will be verified throughout this week under this programme.
