After a dip in mercury followed by winter rains occurred over some places of West Rajasthan during the weekend, the weather took a turn on Sunday and temperatures at all the places in the state except northern and western region, with an increase of 2 to 6 degrees, reached 4 to 5 degrees above normal level. Before this, on the weekend, with the change in weather, the mercury had recorded a steep dip of 5 to 7 degrees Celsius at most of the places in the state.

The reason for those rains was attributed to the Western Disturbance over higher latitudes along with induced Cyclonic Circulation over western parts of Rajasthan. But on Sunday, as both the weather systems moved in east-north-east directions, cloud pattern displayed a declining trend. As a result, rains vacated all the region and sky became mainly clear.

As per local MeT office report, Bhilwara was the coldest place in the state on Sunday where lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 5.8 Degrees Celsius. In fact, Bhilwara was the only place where night temperature was below 6-degree mark on Sunday followed by Chittorgarh 6.6, Alwar 7.0 and Udaipur 7.2 Celsius.

In Jaipur, the temperature increased 5 degrees Celsius in last 24 hours and night temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius, which was one degree above normal. In Kota, Sikar, Churu, Ajmer and Jodhpur minimum temperatures, with the increase between 4-7 degrees Celsius, recorded at 8.0, 8.5, 10.3, 10.5 and 13.1 degrees. In the west and north of the Rajasthan, mercury continues to record a dip on the second consecutive day. Shri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Barmer recorded the minimum temperature at 7.5, 9.5, 8.2 and 12.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
