BJP MLA from Ladpura, Bhawani Singh Rajawat, who often makes headlines due to his controversial remarks, has now trained guns on the Raje government for neglecting leaders of the Rajput community.

He accused the state government and the party organisation for conspiring against the proposed appointment of Union minister of state for agriculture Gajendra Singh as state party chief.

While speaking in a conference titled, ‘Political future of Rajput Community,’ held in Kota on Sunday, Rajawat said that when party high command decided upon Shekhawat’s name as state party president then why are the people sitting in the government and organisation not comfortable with it. “They have started opposing his appointment, and it is a conspiracy. I want to advise them that they should take all the people of all 36 castes together,” said Rajawat.

His statement, ironically, reflects his present state as he being a Rajput MLA was ignored both in the organisation and the government. His pain has come to fore many a time as he has been criticising the Raje government.

Rajawat, as convener of Kota meet, invited dissident BJP legislators and political leaders from the Rajput community who also shared their views on the issue.

This meet, in the political circle, is seen as a show of strength of dissident leaders including Rajawat to put pressure on Raje and those close to her. According to a grapevine, Rajawat, who is a three-time MLA, might be denied BJP ticket for the Assembly polls slated to be held in December end because of his constant criticism of Raje. According to sources, he is thus forced to raise voice in order to continue with pressure politics.

The MLA’s remarks on Shekhawat issue clearly shows he wants to put the saffron party in the state in bad light so he could mobilise Rajput voters in his constituency.

Unhappy With Govt

The Rajput community is said to be unhappy with the state government and the BJP as a whole over the killing of gangster Anandpal Singh in an encounter, ‘Padmaavat’ film row and standoff between Raje and former Jaipur royal family and now the latest being Shekhawat issue.
