After 29 days the strike of the staff of low-floor buses ended on Monday and buses started plying again. The striking employees formally gave a letter to the managing director of JCTSL informing him about the decision of ending the strike.

After the model code of conduct came into force in the state from October 6, all the agitating employee unions have ended their strike.

The JCTSL management tried to make the striking employees understand that talks were not possible as model code of conduct was in force. However, the striking employees continued with their agitation.

Meanwhile, in the last 3-4 days many drivers started returning to work and many buses were seen plying on the road. At last on Sunday, district election officer Siddharth Mahajan issued a notice to Vipin Choudhary, president of JCTSL employees union, saying that calling the strike amounted to violation of model code of conduct and sought his reply in three days. Subsequently the strike was ended on Monday afternoon. The strike was going on since September 17 causing trouble to passengers.

However, now all the buses are back on the road and daily commuters, which include a large number of college going students and professionals, will be able to go to their destination with ease.

Daily commuters were having a tough time since last 29 days as they had to resort to more expensive means of transport for daily commuting purpose. The number of private mini buses had meanwhile gone up.
