ATS to bring Jaipur blasts accused to city

The Delhi police has got a remand of the man for a fortnight more after which the Rajasthan ATS would try to obtain a remand of Junaid.

Days after the special branch of Delhi police arrested Mohammad Ariz Khan alias Junaid, an operative of the Indian Mujahiddin from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, the team of Rajasthan Police’s Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has returned after conducting initial interrogation of the accused. 

The Delhi police has got a remand of the man for a fortnight more after which the Rajasthan ATS would try to obtain a remand of Junaid. Highly placed sources say that in the meanwhile the interrogating team has prepared the notes which are being studied by senior ATS officials and based on which the investigation will be done further. 

Moreover once the ATS team brings Junaid to Jaipur, he will be taken to all the blast spots as part of ATS’s investigation. The man is expected to be brought to Jaipur in mid-March. The sources say that the place where these men stayed to prepare their plans and explosives will also be visited as part of ATS’s investigation.

It should be noted that the special cell of Delhi police arrested Ariz Khan alias Junaid, a terrorist of the banned outfit Indian Mujahideen on Wednesday. The man was an accused in the Jaipur bomb blasts that rocked the Pink City in May 2008. Interestingly, even the Rajasthan police was on the tail of the man who had been searched for the past several years and after receiving the latest intel about his whereabouts, had deployed a team to nab him.
