Assembly Elections 2018: Now, Rajasthan is the political hotspot for BJP biggies

The opposition Congress has left five seats for its allies in Rajasthan and thus, several senior leaders such as Sharad Yadav of LJP are expected to campaign in favour of Congress

The great political show of Rajasthan is set to get bigger as voting for the second phase concludes at Chattisgarh. Several senior national leaders are scheduled to address rallies in the state before it goes for election on December 7, many of these though also have similar events planned at neighbouring Madhya Pradesh where polling is expected on November 28. 

The opposition Congress has left five seats for its allies in Rajasthan and thus, several senior leaders such as Sharad Yadav of LJP are expected to campaign in favour of Congress, the BJP among a long list of its leaders has special demand for UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The BJP has been contesting close on lines of Hindutva and Yogi Adityanath remains a prominent face of the saffron brigade.

“BJP do not have a scarcity of star campaigners, we have long list of popular leaders. Its a challenge for Congress where none except Rahul Gandhi holds a national stature,” says a senior BJP leader. Congress has released a list of 40 star campaigners including names of former party president Sonia Gandhi, former prime minister Manmohan Singh and chief minister of neighbouring state Punjab Amrinder Singh, among these are also local leaders Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot and former BJP leader Manvendra Singh. 

The BJP, meanwhile, has yet not released schedule of its star campaigners, but is likely to rely heavily on Yogi Adityanath to appeal the ‘hinduatva’ forces. Yogi to have several election rallies scheduled at Madhya Pradesh is expected to address 21 election meetings at Rajasthan. Many of his rallies are expected in the district of Alwar that had made it to national news following lynching incidents. Another star campaigner to come from Uttar Pradesh remains union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will also address six election meetings in the state, his election plan is also to be drafted. 

The  BJP star campaign took off with events of party national president Amit Shah at Jaipur and Bikaner. The show is expected to gather more stardust as polling day comes close and is expected to witness tours of prime minister Narendra Modi after November 23.

The BJP has yet not released schedule of its star campaigners, but is likely to rely heavily on Yogi Adityanath to appeal the ‘hinduatva’ forces. Yogi to have several election rallies scheduled at MP is expected to address 21 election meetings in Raj. Many of his rallies are expected in the district of Alwar that had made it to national news following lynching incidents.
