Asaram verdict: Section 144 imposed in Jodhpur till month-end

Section 144 will be imposed in Jodhpur from April 21 to April 30 as a precautionary measure in view of the verdict in the Asaram trial to be delivered likely on April 25. Deputy Commissioner of Police East and West Dr. Amandeep Singh Kapoor and Sameer Kumar Singh told reporters that according to the order of Commissioner of Police Ashok Kumar Rathore, the meetings, rallies and processions have been banned. .

Although the verdict will be pronounced in jail, thousands of Asaram’s supporters are expected to come to Jodhpur. For this, they have send letters to all the rail managers, roadways and transport officers and asked them to be on alert. They have been asked to stop the supporters of Asaram from coming Jodhpur and give information about them.

Apart from this, vehicles coming from outside will be being searched at all the check posts of the city. They will also carry out checking campaigns in the city, nearby hotels, and the guest houses. Owners of hotels have been told not to allow Asaram’s supporters in their properties.

Heavy police force will continue to be deployed. He said that on the day of verdict, heavy police will be deployed outside Central Jail on April 25. No unauthorised person will be allowed here. Apart from this, the police force will also be deployed at all the sensitive places of the city. On the other hand, the police force can also be called to Jodhpur from other districts. However, it is yet to confirm how many supporters are coming to Jodhpur. The police will keep an eye on the activities of the supporters. The operators of Asaram Ashram have also been told that the supporters creating ruckus can be arrested.
