Asaram has assured his supporters that his days in jail are numbered and good days will be back soon.

An audio message of Asaram, who is lodged in Jodhpur jail, went viral in a planned manner.

Asaram had talked to his ashram staff from the landline phone of the jail. Asaram was saying in this audio, “Don’t worry, I will come out of jail very soon and good days will come again. First, we will take out Sharad and Shilpa. Later, I will come among you.”

The information on Asaram’s Facebook page was issued in the evening itself. It was written – On April 27, there is a possibility of the audio going live from Jodhpur jail at 6:30 pm. Please listen to it on ‘Mangalmay’, (Asaram’s mobile app). However, an hour later, the audio was removed from Facebook and the Mangalmay app.

DIG (jail) Vikramsingh Karnavat said that prisoners in jail are allowed to talk to any two numbers for 80 minutes in a month. These two numbers are first verified by the ATS and after this a prisoner can talk on that number. Asaram has been talking on this number for a long time. On Friday evening, Asaram spoke to Jadwani Nishant of the Sabarmati Ashram for 17 minutes. Probably, this conversation was released as an audio message from the ashram. However, whatever Asaram discussed has been recorded by the jail. In any conversation, the jail keeps a backup of what transpires.

Meanwhile, his supporters seem to have distanced themselves from him after he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the sexual exploitation case. A proud Asaram was sure that his two crore supporters would reach Jodhpur if he called them but owing to the stringent security arrangements by the police, only six made it to the city. Moreover, after the harsh court verdict, his supporters did not hit the streets to vent their anger. This has come as a rude shock to Asaram and his ashram team is going on a damage control mode to counter this.

Information about Asaram’s coming to the court was given in advance to the supporters on social media by the control room of asaram.
