After the Big Verdict on April 25, the self-styled Godman’s Think tank has gone into a huddle mode to discuss their next move.

Asaram’s plea will be filed in High Court following a closed-door meeting of a battery of lawyers and the entire legal team. Though it was earlier planned that the petition would be filed on Friday, the team wanted to play safe and study the case files once again.

They will now appeal to the High Court after reading each and every point of the trial court’s 453-page verdict. Asaram’s lawyers can now take more than a day or twofor this. Prior to this, a petition could be filed in the High Court for Shilpi.

Advocates of Asaram say that it will take two to three days to file the petition in High Court. The trial court verdict is being studied. An appeal will be filed in the High Court against the sentence after reading every single point.

Supporters of Asaram have planned new strategies to get him out of jail and for this they have contacted senior lawyers.

A close aide of Asaram said they will first plead for the “godman’s” bail. First of all, they will file a petition for Sanchita aka Shilpi in the High Court. Shilpi’s father Mahendra Kumar has also reached Jodhpur and has met senior lawyer Mahesh Boda.

MORE THAN Rs 7 CRORE SPENT

WHAT IS THE RULE

If a person hires personnel from the police for his protection, he has to shell out Rs 3,000 a day. At the same time, for hiring the police station level officer he has to pay Rs 15,500 rupees a day. Asaram was presented in the court for around a 100 days in a year. Accordingly, around Rs 1.5 crore were spent by the government during a year for presenting Asaram in the court. That means more than Rs 7 crore have been spent in the security of Asaram in the last 56 months.
