Now, the last pit stop of Asaram’s life will be behind the bars as he will be treated as a common prisoner in jail. The food coming from the ashram every day will also be restricted and he will be served only jail food. He will also have to work in the jail factory. Before the court verdict, Asaram could also get a homemade meal in jail and could wear clothes from home. So far Asaram had no work of any kind inside the jail. But now, he will be given a prisoner number. Simultaneously, the work given to prisoners in jail will also be assigned to Asaram.

‘Faced series of blows from starting’

Soon after the judgment, Neelam Dubey, Asaram’s spokesperson said that “I was not in touch with our legal team for last one day. We will discuss with our legal team and then decide further course of action. We have confidence in our judiciary,”

Dubey said that they were facing series of blows right from the starting when the first FIR was registered. “It was a big blow when FIR was registered against us. It was not a small blow when media ran a trial in the matter.

Elimination of witnesses during the trial and allegations were on us was also big blow. Hamen itne jhatke par jhatke mile hain ki ab to jhatke bhi hamse jhatakte hain,” said Dubey when talking to the media person. “It’s really a point of disappointment but we will move forward and challenge the verdict in high court,” she said.

Following the verdict, Asaram’s counsel Mahesh Boda said that they will appeal in the High Court against this decision. The advocate even said that considering the age of Asaram, this sentence is more. A petition for this will be filed soon in the High Court. There will also be appeals from Shilpi and Sharad.
