Army of 8,000 volunteers to take on social media battle for BJP

The BJP team has been entrusted with a responsibility of enhancing the party’s presence on various social media platforms through means of campaigns and connecting youth voters via NaMo App.

Smartphones and social media are a go-to platforms when it comes to easy and instant access of news and communication. To make most of this dependence of people, especially youngsters, political parties are paying special attention on social media management. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed a team of around 8,000 volunteers to manage social media and other digital platforms for a wider reach with eyes on expanding their vote bank to win the the state assembly elections.

The BJP team has been entrusted with a responsibility of enhancing the party’s presence on various social media platforms through means of campaigns and connecting youth voters via NaMo App. No wonder, it was only a few days ago that prime minister Narendra Modi had said that social media will play a major role in the upcoming elections and he has instructed all his MPs and ministers to be active on the social media platform.

The state BJP social media cell has deployed a team of 7,000 social media volunteers across the state and which will carry out the election campaigns. Volunteers will also formulate strategies and inform about the plans of the central and the state government on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and the like. Moreover, the BJP’s national president Amit Shah will address the social media volunteers during his one day visit to Jaipur on July 21.

To get the team started and help the volunteers synchronize work, a one-day workshop of social media cell will also be organised. “This workshop will be held in two sessions and around 7,000 social media volunteers from across the state will be included. The party’s national president will address a session of the workshop. The venue of the workshop will be decided soon,” said 

Ajay Gupta, the Jaipur divisional incharge of BJP social media cell.

NaMo App Convener

The NaMo App cell has also formed a team of about 1,500 workers. A meeting of BJP NaMo App Cell was held on Saturday and a target of getting 2,500 youth download the app in every assembly constituency was fixed. A NaMo App convenor in each assembly area and each mandal has been appointed.
