Like any other other issue, the Anandpal encounter too has become a subject of hot debate on social media.

As Rajasthan police announced the killing of Anandpal in an encounter in Malasar in Ratangarh on Saturday night, posts on Facebook and other social media platforms started appearing, some praising the bravery of cops while others called it a murder.

However, the most curious case has been of Veer Indra Saran, who had announced the details of the encounter on his Facebook even before the encounter could begin.

According to police, the encounter began around 10.30pm on Saturday. But at 8.57pm same day Saran congratulated the Rajasthan police on eliminating the gangster.

In his post he said: “Rajasthan ki gandagi Anandpal ka safaya karne par police ko badhai dena banta hai’ and ‘Aaj ho sakta hai Anandpal ka encounter.”

What made the case more mysterious was Saran’s arrest.Wasting no time, the police arrested him on Monday, but the matter did not end here as his Facebook account was still active minutes before his arrest.

However, mysteriously clarification started coming on his Anandpal posts on his Facebook. This has raised many questions about the timing of clarifications. According to police version, he was arrested around 11pm on Monday while amendment to the post was appeared at 10.49pm.

The main question is, did Saran made amendments to the post under alleged police pressure or was he aware in advance of this highly secretive operation?

When DNA contacted Jodhpur Police for the comment on the arrest of the youth, SHO Rajiv Bhadu of Bhopalgarh Police Station under Jodhpur Rural said, “We have arrested the accused around 11 pm on Monday for the posts he made.”

Also, the press note released by the police has asked people not to forward any posts or comments on social media without confirming their authenticity.

Meanwhile, the SP Nagaur Paris Deshmukh has urged people from all walks of life to refrain from circulating or posting comments and reports on social media platforms which might create discord in the society.
