Alwar lynching: Gyandev Ahuja accuses police of implicating him

BJP MLA from Ramgarh Gyandev Ahuja has launched an offensive against the police and accused them of pressurising Aslam into giving statements against him. Ahuja said he has no connection with the accused persons. 

The MLA went on to say that, “Police have pressurised Aslam to give statement against me. I had raised the issue of police being involved in illegal extortion in Vidhan Sabha and so the police want to settle scores with me. The police can check my call details of the last six months, I have no connection with any of the three,” he added.

Defending the accused, he said: “The crowd that had stopped Akbar and Aslam had given them a few slaps. Aslam had run away. The fact that Akbar was not badly injured is substantiated by the fact that the police did not take him to the hospital immediately. Those arrested were called to lodge FIR against the cow smugglers and arrested.”

Responding to the allegations of being a patron of gau rakshaks, Ahuja said: “I am not a patron of gau rakshaks. In fact, all people of Alwar are gau rakshaks.”

Ahuja also questioned the Congress’ intent of not raising the issue of a Dalit man lynched by mob in Barmer.
