After a not so great start, the royal train Palace on Wheels (PoW) seems to have finally found popularity among tourists. For the first time in this season, the train is seen packed with more than its original capacity and to meet the heightened demand, an extra coach has been put to cater the tourists.

A total of 86 tourists from 12 countries have boarded the train which will reach at Gandhi Nagar railway station on Thursday.

Giving the information, an overjoyed Pradeep Bohra, general manager of the train informed that PoW is arriving with 86 passengers while the capacity of the train is 82 passengers.

He informed that it was possible because of the intense efforts of the RTDC and railways that the train is running with so many tourists on board and the situation is such that an extra coach has been attached to the train.

This achievement is a significant thing for RTDC as it has been trying very hard for increasing the number of tourists in the train. In this season, the train is on the new rake which was used for Royal Rajasthan On Wheels (RROW) and the coaches were renovated fully.

In December the train was struggling to attract passengers as on December 7, the train had 18 tourists. Two of these were travelling on complimentary tickets while 16 were paid tourists.

Before that, the train could manage just 29 passengers. The train started its trip this season with 27 tourists on September 7 last year. The officials had at that time informed that in coming days train would arrive packed with passengers, but it is now that they could actually walk the talk.
