Three videos of Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the diwan of the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti dargah in Ajmer, have gone viral on social media. In the videos, the Diwan can be seen scolding a qawwal, who tried to hug the diwan.
Diwan Zainul Abedin got angry and scolded the qawwal as he thought his action was inappropriate. Apart from India, the video has become a topic of debate in other places as well, such as Pakistan and London.
The incident took place when Diwan Zainul Abedin and his family were on a trip to London from July 23 to August 7. A London-based businessman had organised a programme of qawwali at his place.
The person who is being scolded in the video has been identified as grandson of the famous Pakistani qawwal Ghulam Farid Sabri’.
In another video, the diwan can be seen saying that no qawwal can even ask for water in the gathering, if such a thing happens, then I get his clothes removed and send him out.
Speaking on the matter, Diwan Zainul Abedin’s son Naseeruddin Ali said that the diwan always gives statements against Pakistan.
In London, the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir asked him to speak in the favour of Pakistan, but he refused. To mislead people, some mischievous elements have made these videos viral on various social media platforms.
