After dry spell, monsoon again active in many parts of state

As per MeT dept the condition is favourable for further advancement of southwest monsoon shortly

After one and half week long dry spell, the southwest monsoon has once again started to soak the state as light to moderate showers were recorded at many places on Thursday.

In fact, a couple of places recorded more than 100 mm rainfall during the last twenty four hours. Weathermen now have predicted that with the change in weather system,  monsoon will cover the entire state in the next few days.

It was a cloudy morning for Jaipur on Thursday after parts of the city around Walled City recorded spell of good rainfall on Wednesday.

The cool content after rain kept the weather pleasant but as soon as the day progressed, higher humidity made people to sweat until post afternoon when cloud activities over the sky turned into mild to light showers in parts of the city.

As per water resources department, Jaipur recorded 12 mm of rainfall on Thursday. These intermittent showers brought down the temperature and minimum temperature was recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius.

As per MeT report, heavy rain or thunderstorm accompanied with rain is likely to occur in parts of state during the next 24 hours.

As per official data, Arai in Ajmer and Taskola in Jaipur division recorded more than 100 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours. Good rainfall was also recorded at nearby districts of Hanumangarh, Sriganganagar, Tonk, Ajmer, Jhunjhunu, Baran and Jhalawar.

Lamba Hari Singh received 72 mm rainfall followed by Sangod- 61mm, Jahajpur-58 mm, Narena- 49 mm, Rupangarh- 47mm, Sapotara- 44 mm.

According to weathermen, a cyclonic circulation is over northern parts of Rajasthan and another one is over the central parts of west and south Pakistan.

Including this, a trough is extending from west Rajasthan to north Rajasthan.

“The condition is favourable for further advancementof southwest monsoon shortly and is likely to cover the entire state during the next few days.

Heavy rainfall activity is likely over southeast Rajasthan,” an official at local MeT said.

CYCLONIC ACTIVITY

According to weathermen, a cyclonic circulation is over northern parts of Rajasthan and another one is over the central parts of west and south Pakistan. The condition is favourable for further advancementof southwest monsoon shortly and is likely to cover the entire state.
