In coming days, there will be a direct flight between Jaipur and Dehradun, adding one more destination from Jaipur airport for which direct flight will be available. However, from January 20, this new direct flight will be operated by Spicejet airlines.
The flight number SG3467 will depart from Jaipur at 6:50 am and will reach Dehradun by 8:20 am. While coming back, flight number SG3464 will depart from Dehradun at 2:05 pm and reach Jaipur by 3:55 pm. With direct linking of these two cities, passengers travelling to Uttarakhand and other places close to Dehradun will benefit. This is yet another addition at Jaipur airport a few days back only, flight to Bhopal has also been started from Jaipur airport by the airlines giving more option to the flyers.
Before this, a few months back, Jaipur passengers who were sick to getting a connecting from either Delhi or Mumbai for going to Bhopal got a sigh of relief. Air India had also started a flight connecting Bhopal with Jaipur which takes 1 hour and 30 minutes between Jaipur and Bhopal.
There has been a constant rise in the number of passengers using Jaipur airport. In a recent report issued by Airport authority, it was informed that in November this year, 3547882 passengers used the airport compared to last year in the same duration when 2971975 passengers used Jaipur airport. This means, that there has been an increase of 19.4% change in passenger number using this airport. These include both International and domestic passengers.
Meanwhile, after the decision of giving Jaipur airport on PPP, Airport Authority of India has issued the tender for giving the Jaipur airport to the private player for operation management and development of the airport.
Pre-Bid Meet
The pre-bid meeting of the interested parties will be held on January 17. The airport authority, in the schedule, has given the details of the various stages of processing this tender from eligible bidders and the financial bid will be opened on February 25.
