The Jaipur Municipal Corporation will make an action plan within a week to include city in the World Heritage City’s List. Under this plan, work will begin in the Walled City area. A meeting of officers of various departments was held on Monday under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary (Local Self-Government) Naveen Mahajan.

In the meeting, the private consultant establishment “Dron” gave a presentation and it was told what steps should be taken to get the city in World Heritage list. According to sources, illegal construction and encroachment must be stopped before the Walled City is included in UNESCO’s list. The JMC has to make the Walled City encroachment free and the traffic system also has to be improved. Also, beautification of the areas surrounding heritage monuments such as Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Isarlat etc. has to be done. For this, JMC, Archeology Department, Jaipur Smart City Ltd, Jaipur Development Authority, Amer Development Authority, JVVNL and Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation will work together. Mahajan instructed JMC Commissioner Ravi Jain to make an action plan within a week in this regard. Now next week, this will be a re-meeting and JMC will present an action plan.
