Acting strong: Rajasthan BJP to begin ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ today

The BJP will begin a day-long ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ across the state on Friday to protest against the issue of farmers’ bank loan waiver and unemployment allowance. In Jaipur, more than 5,000 BJP workers will court arrest. Similarly, same will be done in all 33 districts of the state.

The BJP workers in the capital will court arrest at the Civil Lines railway crossing. BJP state leadership has instructed all the party workers of Jaipur city to reach the party headquarters in the morning. All the workers will be gathered at the BJP state headquarters on Friday. The meeting will be held on this occasion. The senior leaders will address the party workers and after this, all the party workers will march towards Civil Lines railway crossing to court arrest. 

BJP city president Mohan Lal Gupta has directed the Jaipur city unit that at least five workers from each booth should court arrest. There are about 1800 polling booths in the city of Jaipur. Therefore, in Jaipur, more than 5,000 BJP workers will court arrest. Similarly, the office-bearers of all the 41 organisational districts of the BJP, state office-bearers, legislators, MPs, councillors and senior leaders will court arrest. Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and state president Madan Lal Saini will court arrest in Jaipur. After the appointment of presidents of Jaipur city and rural unit, this is the party’s first major movement. That’s why both the district presidents are putting lot of effort to make the movement a success. City President Mohanlal Gupta has said that more than 500 workers will court arrest from every assembly constituency of the city.

The BJP had started the statewide movement on January 28 demanding implementation of  10 per cent reservation to Economically Backward Class(EBC), farmer’s bank loan wavier, unemployment allowance. The BJP had protested on January 28 in all the 33 districts across the state and handed over a memorandum to district administration officials in the name of the Governor Kalyan Singh. The BJP has accused the Congress government of betraying the people of the state.

Action Plan

In the manifesto of Assembly polls, Congress had announced to give Rs3,500 per month allowance to the unemployed youth and waive off bank loans of farmers. With LS polls around the corner, the BJP is raising the issue of farmers’ loan waiver.
