The Aam Aadmi Party proposes big plans for small business owners ahead of assembly elections in Rajasthan. The party, while declaring its draft manifesto had focused on issues relating to farmers and youth but now has assured the trader community of ‘corruption free environment’.

In direction to appease the traders, party leaders will be discussing the draft manifesto with the trade representatives. The suggestions received will be included in the final manifesto.

“Both the BJP and Congress governments have obstructed growth of industries in Rajasthan. The AAP government will facilitate growth by eradicating corruption and effective implementation of schemes,” said AAP leader Mohinder Goyal during an interaction with media in Jaipur on Wednesday.

Goyal, an AAP MLA from Rithala Delhi, was in city to garner support for party from trader community of Rajasthan. As he claimed traders’ support following the ‘policies’ of the party’s government in Delhi, the caste lineage of their national president and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also comes in as a latent factor.

Majority of the traditional trader families in Rajasthan are from the ‘Baniya’ community and Kejriwal has previously stressed his lineage to the community during last assembly elections in Delhi.

It has the support of the small traders that has been crucial for the rise of BJP as an urban party in its initial years. Their support is now being sought by AAP as it strives to find a foothold in Rajasthan.

Kejri Rally In City

AAP president Arvind Kejriwal is expected to add fervour to party’s election campaign in Rajasthan, through a public rally in Jaipur by month-end. The party has been planning statewide tour of Kejriwal with the focus on urban seats. In his first election campaign event in Rajasthan, Kejriwal is expected to address a public gathering at Ramleela grounds in Jaipur on October 28.
