707 get waiver certificates in Jaipur

The process of giving loan waiver certificates to the eligible farmers began in Jaipur district on Monday. In the camp that was set up at Jaitpura Gram Seva Sehkari Samiti (GSS), 707 farmers were given the certificates. However, 37 farmers whose Bhamashah and Aadhaar cards were not seeded with the bank accounts could not be given the certificates. The officials informed that once the seeding work is done by the farmers they will be handed over the certificates.

Farmers having loan amount right from Rs 8,502 to Rs 50,000 have been given the waiver to pay the farm loans. The list of all these farmers was pasted on the wall of GSS and farmers came in large numbers to check their names.

In spite of getting the waiver of loans upto September 2017, the farmers are now demanding fresh loans. Speaking to DNA, many farmers expressed satisfaction over loan waive off, but they were eager to know the process for fresh loan. Several farmers seemed confused over the exact amount that has been waived off and the amount of credit limit which has been given to them by the cooperative banks, but their confusion was cleared by the officials. 

The department of cooperatives has identified about 1,80,000 farmers of Jaipur district who will  get the benefit of the scheme. Till now, the documents of 1,57,000 farmers have been validated by the department of information technology while there are 12,000 farmers who do not have Bhamashah and Aadhar card and will be able to avail the benefit of the scheme once they get their cards made.
