7 child labourers from Madhya Pradesh rescued

The seven child labors, all boys from Bulandsahar city in M.P. in the primary inquiry revealed that they were sent to Kota for work by a contractor in Indore on February 2, the CWC chairman added.

A joint team of child welfare committee (CWC) and Child Line late on Monday evening rescued seven child labourers, all from Bulandsahar in Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) from a railway station in Kota where they had escaped to and were spotted by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel.

The rescued child labourers were later sent to Tabar shelter home of the city.

At least seven child labourers were yesterday spotted by RPF personnel at Kota railway station where they were looking for the train to Indore in M.P, CWC chairman Harish Gurubakshani told. RPF informed the CWC and Child Line about this kids following which a joint team rushed to the spot and rescued the seven child labors, he added.

The seven child labors, all boys from Bulandsahar city in M.P. in the primary inquiry revealed that they were sent to Kota for work by a contractor in Indore on February 2, the CWC chairman added.

The seven boys were beaten up and thrashed by their employer in Kota and were not given food and payment following which they managed to escaped from Ummed Bhawan where they were engaged in catering work and rushed to Kota railway station to board a train to Indore, he added.

The rescued boys do not know anything about the employer in Kota so the investigation to ascertain his identity is underway, however, CWC directed Bhimganj Mandi police to lodge a case in this regard against the contractor from Indore.

The rescued children were later produced before the Child welfare committee that ordered to send them to children shelter home in Kota, the CWC chairman said.
