50% specially-abled voters identified till now in Rajasthan

The Election Department has managed to identify only 50 per cent of Divyang voters till September 15.

The Assembly elections are to be held within the next few months and only 50 per cent of the  specially-abled voters have been identified till now in the state. 

The State Election Department has directed all the district election officers to quickly complete the flagging (identification) work of Divyang voters. The Election Commission of India has instructed to make special arrangements for the convenience of Divyang voters in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Under this the arrangement of ramps and wheelchairs will be made at every polling centre for Divyang voters. State icon Divyang player Devendra Jhajharia will also inspire the voters to vote via a video clip.

The identification work of Divyang voters in the state has not been completed yet. The Election Department has managed to identify only 50 per cent of Divyang voters till September 15. 

In order to help make the Divyang voters use their voting rights in the upcoming elections, the election department has set a target to complete the identification work of such voters as soon as possible. The state election department has issued guidelines on September 20 to all district election officers regarding Divyang voters and for conducting smooth election. District level committee will be constituted in every district to ensure the participation of Divyang voters during the elections under these guidelines. 

The chief executive officer of the Zilla Parishad will be the member secretary of the committee. Apart from this, a Divyang  coordinator will be appointed in each district election office and the election registration officers office.
