25-year-old Bangladeshi woman detained in Kota

The Bangladeshi woman had no legal travelling documents and had crossed the Indian boarder illegally.

A Bangladeshi national was on Sunday detained from outside Kota central jail under Nayapura police station area of Kota city. The 25-year-old woman had been staying at Surat in Gujarat and arrived Kota to meet her husband lodged in Kota jail for smuggling and human trafficking, however, police have not arrested the woman and initiated process to deport her to Bangladesh.

Role of police constable identified as Sher Afjal, posted at Kaithunipole police station is also suspected in the matter as he was reportedly in contact with the Bangladeshi woman and facilitated her way to Kota central jail from railway station after she arrived in the city and did not disclose the matter to his department or to intelligence agencies. On the tip off, the Bangladeshi woman identified as Pakhi Sikadhar, a resident of Paikand, district Gopalganj in Bangladesh was on Sunday detained from outside Kota central jail, said CI, Nayapura police station Vijay Shankar Sharma. The woman in the initial interrogation told that she had been staying in Tarata Bazaar in Surat for last two to three years and had come to Kota to meet her husband Sultan who is lodged in Kota central jail for smuggling and human trafficking for about three months he said. 

The Bangladeshi woman had no legal travelling documents and had crossed the Indian boarder illegally. As per the rule on Bangladeshi nationals, the woman has not been arrested and the process to deport her to Bangladesh has been initiated, the CI added. No suspected motive to spy in India has surfaced in interrogation with the woman. Once the process of deportation is over, she would be deported to her country.
