17 yrs & still, Sona Devi cries for missing brother

In the assembly on Wednesday, Raisinghnagar MLA Sona Devi Bawri got emotional after she informed the house and the home minister about the kidnapping of her brother Deepak in the year 2000. She said that 17 years have passed and perhaps since it was a Congress government, the brother was not found. She informed that FIR was registered in Karanpur.

She had hopes from the current government and asked if it will find her brother. While saying this she got emotional and was later seen being supported by other women MLA’s sitting near her. Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said that he didn’t have the reply at once, since it was an old case but said that record will be sought and attempts will be made. Speaker Meghwal also assured her. Sona Devi is known for trying rakhi to soldiers on the festival of rakhi. Her brother was kidnapped in Gajsinghpur.

This happened after a question on missing and kidnapping cases of children and women was raised as the first only question during the question hour by MLA Chandrabhan Singh Akya.

Replying to his main question and to supplementary questions asked by other members, home minister Gulab Chand Kataria informed that anti human trafficking units have been established in all districts of the state to find missing children. Kataria also informed that in the cases related to missing children, in last three years the success rate of solving the cases was 93.85 % while in women missing cases it was 89.06%.

He also mentioned that operations MUSKAN, SMILE and MILAP which were started to find missing children have been successful.
