Be it natural beauty or high on aesthetics architecture, Rajasthan has it all to hold the attention of a keen eye in quest of a paradise on earth. The diverse culture, warm people and the amazing sunsets in the desert, everything in the state looks magnificent. You will find desert, lakes, palaces, forts, wildlife all in one place making Rajasthan stand out among other states.

Having been brought up and settled in Udaipur, it is always a very satisfying and happy feeling. The bliss of being in the heaven called Udaipur is so magical that you will stay put spellbound by its charm. I am sure it is a shared feeling and the place getting all the attention even by the cinema fraternity is a testament of its beauty. Hotel Chunda Palace in particular is the cynosure of all eyes.

Being associated with hospitality industry and given that I am a globetrotter, I can say that the state, riding on its rich history and culture since independence is progressing fast with each year.

The campaign to promote tourism in Rajasthan ‘Jaane Kya Dikh Jaaye’ has turned out to be a successful one. The serene desert land needed a campaign like this to share with the world the different perspective of different travellers and how the colourful state popular for majestic forts has something for everyone. However, the government’s efforts towards promoting tourism is appreciable, but somehow goods and service tax (GST) on tourism industry is more than expected, especially in case of hotels and it needs to be given a re-look as tourism is one of the major industry in Rajasthan and a huge number of people are involved directly or indirectly with the industry that affects several livelihoods.

Government should involve experts from different fields and background in their initiative, which will not only bring in different set of ideas, but will also benefit the state as varied views on development will help grow Rajasthan into an even better place.

There are still several unexplored areas like in south Rajasthan that can be well-utilized to further help tourism grow. The government should make efforts to develop such regions as it will give boost to economy.
