When the JSW group bought 50 percent stake last year for Rs 550 crore, they renamed the franchise name from Delhi Daredevils to Dehli Capitals which finished third during the 12th edition of IPL. The Delhi-based franchise made some bold moves and appointed Shreyas Iyer as their skipper for IPL 2019. That move paid dividends as the 25-year-old guided his side in an emphatic campaign, just missing out on a place in the final of the tournament. Going into this year's IPL in UAE, Iyer will be aiming higher from a much stronger DC side as they added some real firepower.
Delhi Capitals do have the potential to become a real darkhorse to ultimately challenge the big boys of the tournament. Kagiso Rabada, Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Prithvi Shaw all played key roles in last year's IPL for Delhi but the arrival of Shikhar Dhawan, Alex Carrey, Ravichandra Ashwin, Shimron Hetmyer, etc will leave skipper Shreyas spoiled for choices in a good way.
Head coach Ricky Ponting will also be looking to find the right balance in the side of both flamboyance and consistency, which is key to put in a title-winning challenge.

Delhi Capitals Indian player to watch out for
One player in the Delhi Capitals side to look out for is wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. The young southpaw had a tough year, ever since he was drafted into the national side during MS Dhoni's time away from Team India after India's semifinal exit from the World Cup 2019. Since then, Pant has come under some real criticism and his below per performances have been put him under the scrutiny by many. IPL 2020 provides the perfect platform for the young cricketer to once again find his feet and delivery on one of the biggest stages of world cricket and replicate his 2018 IPL season form, smashing 684 runs.
Delhi Capitals overseas player to watch out for
While DC have some really exciting foreign talents in their side, new arrival Shimron Hetmyer is the one to keep an eye on. After a poor with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the West Indies dasher will now be even more hungry to prove his doubters wrong and entertain everyone. He has been in good form for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL and he will be desperate to replicate that in IPL 2020.
