Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) young-gun Devdutt Padikkal has had an eventful Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 with the bat.

While his game against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) was one of his off days, he has mostly performed for his side when needed. Now on Saturday, the talented southpaw added yet another feat to his name as he notched up 1000 T20 runs in his short career.

Padikkal had 997 runs to his name before the match in 24 innings at an average of 47.47 and a strike-rate of 152.44. His innings is decorated with nine half-centuries and a hundred.

Padikkal achieved the feat with a boundary of Jason Holder. Padikkal currently is the only batsman with 1000+ runs at an average in excess of 40 and a strike-rate above 150.

While the milestone is another feather to his hat, he failed to provide RCB a good start against SRH in the doubleheader clash as he was castled by Sandeep Sharma for an 8-ball 5.

Nevertheless, the talented Karnataka batsman has achieved several feats this season as he became the first batsman to score three half-centuries in his first four IPL games.

In the last game against Mumbai Indians (MI) - where he scored 45-ball 74 - Padikkal became the second uncapped batsman after Shreyas Iyer to amass 400+ runs in his debut season.

Padikkal has thus far racked up 422 runs in 13 innings at an average of 32.46 and a strike-rate of 127.10 with the help of 4 50+ scores.
