Delhi Capitals will square off against Kings XI Punjab in an important match for KL Rahul's team in IPL 2020. Kings XI Punjab is in the seventh position and they can leapfrog to fifth in the points table if they beat the in-form Delhi Capitals in the match in Dubai. The previous encounter between the two teams was a classic match. Marcus Stoinis helped Delhi Capitals with a brilliant 50 off 20 balls but Mayank Agarwal got Kings XI Punjab close with a magnificent 89. However, with two balls to spare, Kings XI Punjab conspired to lose two wickets in two balls as the match headed into the Super Over and Kagiso Rabada delivered a fine spell to ensure Delhi Capitals had stolen a victory from the jaws of defeat.
Heading into the clash in Dubai, Delhi Capitals will need just one more win to ensure that they seal their spot in the play-offs. A win for Kings XI Punjab, though, will make the race for the fourth spot even intense. However, a loss for KL Rahul's team could put them in the same category as Chennai Super Kings as they will have to depend on other results to ensure their progress is smooth.
The temperature in Dubai will be hot and dry with a maximum of 34 degrees and a minimum of 22 degrees. The humidity will be 40 percent but dew will still play a big role in the outcome of the match.
The wicket in Dubai is sluggish and it has often assisted the spinners. As the game progresses, it becomes even more difficult to bat and the spinners will come into play a lot more.
