IPL 2020: Chris Gayle eyes to join David Warner, Virat Kohli; KL Rahul 23 runs away from feat

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) is all set to take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in UAE.

While Delhi reached the second qualifier in 2019, Punjab did not make it to the knockouts ever since IPL 2014.

Keeping victory in mind, Punjab skipper KL Rahul and teammate Chris Gayle are also looking to reach new milestones.

The veteran Jamaican power-hitter will be eyeing to join David Warner and Virat Kohli in an elite list. Gayle is just 16 runs away from cross 4500 runs in the IPL having played 125 matches across the 13 seasons. The West Indian has scored 4,484 runs and will be the sixth batsman to achieve this feat. 

Virat Kohli tops the list with 5,412 runs in 177 games followed by Suresh Raina with 5,368 runs in 193 games. The list also includes Rohit Sharma, David Warner, and Shikhar Dhawan. 

As for Punjab skipper KL Rahul, he will be eyeing to surpass 2000 runs in the IPL. The newly-appointed captain is just 23 runs away from this feat. He will be the 20th Indian to score more than 2000 runs in the IPL.
