Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Lions (GL) come into Sunday's clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai having achieved contrasting victories in their previous matches. While one had to grind it out in Bengaluru, the other enjoyed a stroll in Rajkot.

The hosts will be pleased with Kieron Pollard's return to form after the West Indian constructed a mature 70 to bail MI out of a tight spot against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Pandya brothers – Krunal and Hardik – have been in fine form too. MI have won three matches on the bounce after losing their opening tie, and either one of the Baroda boys has made a healthy contribution in each of them.

The worry for MI remains the form of skipper captain Rohit Sharma, with the local boy managing just nine runs in the first four matches. The bigger cause of concern, not just for MI but also for Team India who will dive into the Champions Trophy right after the Indian Premier League (IPL), is the manner in which Rohit has been getting out.

He has either gotten out LBW or clean bowled in near identical dismissals, with a leg-spinner featuring on three of those four occasions. Whether it's his rustiness due to lack of game time after a five-month injury break or just a case of not being able to read a leggie, Rohit will have to sort things out quickly if MI are to march on.

The visitors, on the other hand, travel on the back of a morale-boosting victory against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). After getting hammered in their first two matches, the Suresh Raina-led side bounced back in style in front of their home crowd.

Openers Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith finding form will be a big positive for them, with the right-handed duo being at its destructive best against RPS.

Andrew Tye will be another one to watch out for. The medium-pacer surprised everyone by picking up a hat-trick in his IPL debut on Friday. The 30-year-old Australian returned with mighty impressive figures of 5/17 from his four overs. MI would do well to watch out for him, as well as his deceptive slower deliveries.

It promises to be an exciting contest as MI look to continue their winning streak and solidify their position at the top of the table.
