Brendon McCullum has always been known for his acrobatics on the field. At 35, the former New Zealand captain still remains one of the best fielders in the game and a key man for the Gujarat Lions in the top order. The Kiwi star produced yet another stunning display of fielding on the edge the boundary rope in the 8th over got rid of RCB opener Chris Gayle but was eventually let down by his hat.

Opting to field first, the Gujarat Lions had a torrid time to keep the swashbuckling duo of Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli at bay. It was the Indian captain who took charge of things, finding all the gaps on both the sides and constantly rotating the strike. It was no later when the hard-hitting West Indian decided to change gears and started to smack the GL at all ends.

Gayle was, however, handed a lifeline during the 8th over after smacking Jadeja for two consecutive sixes but was saved by McCullum's hat while he was just getting into the groove. Bowling round the wicket, Jadeja bowled a full toss outside off which did not connect well by Gayle but was getting the distance. McCullum, placed at long off puts in a stunning dive and start celebrating, before the third umpire displays footages of the Kiwi batsman's hat brushing the boundary rope.

The West Indian came to haunt back McCullum as he smacked a quickfire 77 of 38 deliveries, comprising of 5 fours and 7 sixes.
