With the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) set to get underway from Wednesday, all eight teams who will be participating in the cash-rich tourney have been going all-out with their preparations over the last week.
The game's international calendar is jam-packed each year, thus, it becomes critical for each team to make optimum use of the little time they get before the IPL season begins. Franchises organise various activity sessions, where players are allowed to bond with each other and create that much-needed rapport.
Much of the focus, of course, is given to getting in as many training sessions as possible. It's difficult for a team to have a shot at winning the title if the players aren't familiar with each others game from the get go.
In this process of playing together and spending so much time with each other, players from all over the world tend to develop genuine friendships with each other. And a glimpse of that was on display after Mumbai Indians' (MI) practice session on Tuesday.
England's explosive batsman Jos Buttler and India's evergreen keeper-batsman Parthiv Patel have been team-mates at MI for a few years now. On Sunday the two-time champions shared a video on social media where one could see the two players involved in an intense wicket-keeping drill. While Buttler was trying to hit the deliveries being thrown at him with the edge of his tiny bat, Parthiv was giving it his all to try and grasp the ball behind the stump.
Reacting to the video, Buttler had a cheeky comment for the diminutive Gujarat lad. "@parthiv9 appealing for everything as usual," tweeted Buttler.

Buttler, though, must have never expected his light-hearted comment to yield the most savage reply. In all probability, the Brit must not be aware that the baby-faced Parthiv is popular for having quite a wicked sense of humour.
Reacting to Buttler's dig, Parthiv commented, "And u were keep hitting the edge of the bat as usual."
