KL Rahul sweeps all the awards of the night as his Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) side won the clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 97 runs.

The KXIP skipper himself score 132* runs to single-handedly take the team cross the 200 mark. As for RCB, there was no batsman who was ready to take the responsibility of helping the team chase the total.

As always RCB lacked the most with the ball, however, tonight, the weakness of the batting line-up was also exposed.

A net run rate of -2.175 will take some undoing for RCB as they will hope they don't get into a NRR situation like the previous seasons.

As for KXIP, they will be happy after a "complete" performance.

1. KL Rahul breaking records

KL Rahul's 132 off 69 balls is the highest ever score by a captain in IPL. He was helped by some poor fielding by the RCB skipper who dropped him twice before he reached his 2nd IPL hundred.

The score is also the highest-ever score by an Indian in the history of IPL.

Earlier in the clash, Rahul broke an eight-year-old record held by Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

2. Dale Steyn's half-century with the ball

Not exactly what any baller will want to see - a half-century of runs given away with no wicket taken.

Dale Steyn in his four allotted overs gave away 57 runs as he helped KXIP go past the 200 runs mark.

Not just him, even Umesh Yadav, in his three overs gave away 35 runs while Navdeep Saini in four overs gave off 37.

3. Virat Kohli's nightmare in Dubai

After winning the toss and opting to field first, the RCB bowlers could not do much as KXIP skipper KL Rahul went on a rampage as he scored 132 runs.

On his way to the mammoth score, he was dropped twice that too by the RCB captain Kohli.

Kohli dropped him once he was in his 80's and once in the '90s. The drops proved to be too much for RCB as KXIP - who were looking for something in the range of 180 at the 16th over - scored 206.

Not just that, coming in to bat at No. 4, Kohli could not manage the chase as he departed after scoring just a run.

4. Young Ravi Bishnoi taking three wickets

After an eventful U19 World Cup, Ravi Bishnoi continued his good form for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) as well.

The young spinner took three important wickets - Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch and Umesh Yadav - helping the side inch closer towards victory.

5. KXIP's all-round performance

Not just Ravi Bishnoi, even Murugan Ashwin took three wickets to help KXIP win the clash.

Sheldon Cottrell took two while Mohammed Shami and Glenn Maxwell took one each as RCB were all-out for 109 runs.

KXIP surely put on a 'complete' performance.
