KABOOM!!! KP powers that one over boundary.

Not taking the single.

KXIP pull off a stunner. 230 not a safe score in IPL. A win by just 7 runs.

MI will be proud of them. They put their heart and soul into it but just couldn't cross the line.

It was our pleasure bringing to ou the match proceedings. Aditya and Soham signing off today. Good Night!!

11:57 PM

A clean over from Sandeep Sharma. No boundaries conceded. Just 7 runs conceded.

MI need 16 of the last over. Can they get it?

MI- 215/6 Overs- 19

11:48 PM

Maxwell loses a dolly!!! He sends this one over the ropes for a maximum with his own hands.

Scythed away for a boundary. Point, backward point and third man inside the circle and Karn Sharma goes bang bang!!

BOWLED him!!! Karn Sharma is bundled. A cameo comes to an end. Karn Sharma hits 19 of just six balls.

16 runs of the over and MI- 208/6 after 18 overs.

11:42 PM

Pandya goes!! Pin drop silence in the stands!! Saha takes a diving catch. 30 of 13 balls for Pandya.

KP keeps the momentum going. Sharma has been packed off in the stands.

Karn Sharma hits a boundary and joins the party. 17 runs of the over.

MI- 192/5 after 17 overs.

11:33 PM

14 in the first three balls. Pollard with two maximum.

Another one in the stands. This time by Hardik Pandya.

Its raining sixes at the Wankhede!!! This time over long-on.

A single to end it!! 27 coming of it.

MI- 174/4 after 16 overs.

11:27 PM

A mountain to climb for Mumbai. They are not finding the fence regularly. The reqd. rate is 16. They are trying to go big but the spinners are holding up everything. Slowing things down. Gets one six on the last ball of the over.

TOO LITTLE!!

MI- 148/4 in 15 overs.

11:22 PM

Ohh!! Pandya clears the fence. A maximum after a long time. They need at least two sixes each over!

Pollard completes the second one.

14 of the over. MI- 137/4 after 14 overs.

11:19 PM

It seems that MI batsmen need some power booster to clear the fence. Nitish Rana bites the dust this time getting caught in the deep unable to clear the fence.

Hardik Pandya comes out to the middle.

Just three of the over. MI-123/4 after 13 overs.

11:14 PM

Rahul Tewatia comes and picks up Rohit Sharma. Mumbai in troubled waters. The asking rate has soared up to 13 runs an over.  Goes for a meagre 5. Pollard is the new man. Can he power MI home with some gigantic Pollard hits. No sign until now. MI- 120/3 after 12 overs.

11:09 PM

Ishant Sharma has conceded nine runs but has missed an easy run out chance at the non-striker's end and has taken a tumble!! A GIRTA PUNJAB stunt? MI- 117/2 after 11overs.

11:01 PM

Maxwell again into the attack. Martin Guptill just sucked the ball from thin air into his own hands. Simmons has to go. He departs for a fiery fifty nine from thirty two deliveries.

Rohit Sharma comes in. The second wicket falls in quick succession.

MI- 108/2 after 10 overs.

10:57 PM

A cheeky shot from Parthiv to start with. A Dil-scoop that one, over the head of short fine-leg. A hat-trick of boundaries by Parthiv Patel before giving up his wicket with a mis-timed shot. An easy catch for Manan Vohra. Mohit Sharma has the last laugh in this mini-battle. MI lose their first wicket at 99. Nitish Rana is the new man who starts off with a boundary. MI- 104/1 in nine overs.

10:50 PM

The skipper, Glen Maxwell comes on with the ball. He is doing a tidy job and an excellent job to concede just four runs in this over. MI- 87/0 after eight overs.

10:46 PM

Mohit Sharma drops Simmons even after taking it under control. Massive boost to Mumbai!! It's disheartening for  a spinner to see a catch drop and then being hit for two sixes!! Axar Patel goes for 14 in his maiden over. MI-82/0 after 7 overs.

10:42 PM

Simmons is blasting anything full. Mohit Sharma is being hit all over the park. MI is keping up with the asking rate with the big hits. Sixteen runs conceded by Mohit Sharma in his first over.

Simmons has hit two maximums. MI- 68/0 after six overs.

With this we have the first strategic time out.

10:32 PM

Ishant goes for 14 in his second over. Gets hit for three boundaries, and falls on the floor in his follow-through a couple of times as well.

MI have gotten off to just the start they needed, 52 for no loss after five overs.

10:26 PM

Ishant bowls a good first over, but Sandeep proves to be expensive in his second over too.

MI haven't lost a wicket with 37 on the board after four overs

The openers should look to kick-on from here.

10:15 AM

Hat-trick of boundaries for Parthiv! The lefty has had a decent IPL 2017. He will need to get a big one for his team tonight.

MI are 23 for no loss after two overs.

10:10 PM

10 off Sandeep Sharma's first over for MI.

Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel will need to get going as the hosts need to maintain a rum-rate of over 11.

10:08 AM
09:53 PM

So Kings XI Punjab have blasted their way to 230/3 in 20 overs.

Wriddhiman Saha has been the star with the bat for the visitors. The keeper batsman mixed caution with aggression on his way to a brilliant 93 from 55.

Glenn Maxwell brought his A game out tonight as well. His devastating 47 off 21 in the middle broke MI's back.

It's KXIP's game to lose from here. Rohit Sharma summoned his players for a quick chat at the end of the innings, but it'll be one shocker if they end up winning tonight.

Join us after the break to find out what happens!

09:45 PM

Kings XI Punjab have equalled the highest total (set by Delhi Daredevils) of IPL 2017.

They are 214/3 with one over to play.

09:38 PM

MI have done well to restrict KXIP a bit.

Bumrah has done exceptionally well tonight, going for just 24 off his quota of for overs.

The pacer even got the key wicket of Maxwell at a crucial juncture in the contest.

Kings are 207/3 after 18 overs.

09:28 PM
09:26 PM

OUT! McClenaghan gets Marsh to top-edge one.

Parthiv Patel does well to hold on to it.

The Kiwi pacer, however, has been poor tonight. He has conceded 40 in just over two overs.

KXIP are looking solid at 183/3 after 15.2 overs.

09:21 PM
09:15 PM

Shaun Marsh has come to the crease and hit some lusty blows.

Barring Bumrah, none of the MI bowlers have managed to keep their economy rate below 10.

The Kings would kick themselves if they don't manage to get well past 200 tonight.

At the second strategic time-out, the visitors are 161/2 afrer 14 overs.

09:07 PM
09:06 PM

Meanwhile, Saha has silently carried on and reached a richly-deserved half-century.

The keeper-batsman has played a crucial hand for his side tonight. He must carry on if the visitors are to make a strong total on this high-scoring ground.

KXIP are 141/2 after 12 overs.

09:01 PM

OUT! Bumrah sends Maxwell packing.

The Aussie picked up a boundary the previous ball with a cheeky glance through the slip cordon, got castled the next ball as he tried to play a similar shot.

This is a huge wicket for MI as the Kings could've ran away with the contest had Maxi stuck around for another five overs.

KXIP are 132/2 after 11 overs.

08:58 PM
08:55 PM
08:54 PM
08:45 PM

41 off 14 for Maxi! This is some belligerent batting.

Saha going strong at the other end too.

Mumbai haven't looked this clueless in the entire tournament.

08:50 PM

Harbhajan Singh has finally been given the ball.

Maxwell greets the veteran off-spinner with three sixes.

Bhajji goes for 21 off his first, KXIP are 121/1 after nine overs.

08:46 PM

100 up for KXIP at the end of the eight over.

Maxwell and Saha look to be playing at ease.

Will MI be able to pull things back?

08:42 PM

Bang! Maxwell deposits the first ball after the break by Karn Sharma into the crowd.

08:41 PM

The first strategic time-out of the night has been taken.

KXIP are in a dominant position, with Maxwell joining the party and smashing a couple of boundaries first-up.

After seven overs, the visitors are 85/1.

08:38 PM

KXIP captain makes a surprise move up the batting order.

The Australian has walked in at 3 tonight, something he should've probably considered doing earlier in the tournament as well.

08:32 PM

Bumrah bowls a better fifth over of the Punjab innings.

Rohit ropes in Karn Sharma to deliver the final over of the Power Play.

The leg-spinner doesn't disappoint by picking MI's first wicket of the night.

Guptill hits one long into the night sky, Pandya does tremendously well to keep his balance and pouch a difficult chance.

KXIP have, however, won the first round of this contest convincingly.

They have bludgeoned their way to 71/1 after the first six overs.

08:26 PM
08:22 PM

KXIP blaze away! MI have tried four different bowlers in the first four overs, and they all have been dealt with severely by Saha and Guptill.

After Pandya and McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga were brought into the attack by Rohit.

However, the two T20 specialists have been smashed to all parts of the ground by the visitiing batsmen.

The visitors are 51 for no loss after four overs. Ominous signs for the hosts.

08:16 PM
08:13 PM

KXIP have gotten off to a flying start! Hardik Pandya was surprisingly given the responsibility to bowl the first over, and the all-rounder was taken for 13 runs.

Mitchell McClenaghan bowls the second over and is taken to the cleaners too.

The visitors have raced to 29 for no loss after the first two overs. Openers Wriddhiman Saha and Martin Guptill seem to be in fine touch.

Just the start KXIP needed in this must-win game for them.

08:02 PM

Here is the Playing XI of both the teams:

Kings XI Punjab: Manan Vohra, Martin Guptill, Shaun Marsh, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Glenn Maxwell(c), Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Matt Henry, Mohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Sandeep Sharma

07:57 PM

MI captain Rohit Sharma has won the toss. It comes as no surprise that he has decided to field first.

The hosts have made no changes to their playing eleven. Whereas, the visitors have opted for one change - Ishant Sharma comes in for Swapnil Singh.
