It seems that MI batsmen need some power booster to clear the fence. Nitish Rana bites the dust this time getting caught in the deep unable to clear the fence. 

Hardik Pandya comes out to the middle.

Rahul Tewatia comes and picks up Rohit Sharma. Mumbai in troubled waters. The asking rate has soared up to 13 runs an over.  Goes for a meagre 5. Pollard is the new man. Can he power MI home with some gigantic Pollard hits. No sign until now. MI- 120/3 after 12 overs.

Ishant Sharma has conceded nine runs but has missed an easy run out chance at the non-striker's end and has taken a tumble!! A GIRTA PUNJAB stunt? MI- 117/2 after 11overs.

Maxwell again into the attack. Martin Guptill just sucked the ball from thin air into his own hands. Simmons has to go. He departs for a fiery fifty nine from thirty two deliveries. 

Rohit Sharma comes in. The second wicket falls in quick succession.

A cheeky shot from Parthiv to start with. A Dil-scoop that one, over the head of short fine-leg. A hat-trick of boundaries by Parthiv Patel before giving up his wicket with a mis-timed shot. An easy catch for Manan Vohra. Mohit Sharma has the last laugh in this mini-battle. MI lose their first wicket at 99. Nitish Rana is the new man who starts off with a boundary. The skipper, Glen Maxwell comes on with the ball. He is doing a tidy job and an excellent job to concede just four runs in this over. MI- 87/0 after eight overs.

Mohit Sharma drops Simmons even after taking it under control. Massive boost to Mumbai!! It's disheartening for  a spinner to see a catch drop and then being hit for two sixes!! Axar Patel goes for 14 in his maiden over. MI-82/0 after 7 overs.

Simmons is blasting anything full. Mohit Sharma is being hit all over the park. MI is keping up with the asking rate with the big hits. Sixteen runs conceded by Mohit Sharma in his first over.

Simmons has hit two maximums. MI- 68/0 after six overs.

With this we have the first strategic time out.

Ishant goes for 14 in his second over. Gets hit for three boundaries, and falls on the floor in his follow-through a couple of times as well.

MI have gotten off to just the start they needed, 52 for no loss after five overs.

Ishant bowls a good first over, but Sandeep proves to be expensive in his second over too.

MI haven't lost a wicket with 37 on the board after four overs

The openers should look to kick-on from here.

Hat-trick of boundaries for Parthiv! The lefty has had a decent IPL 2017. He will need to get a big one for his team tonight.

So Kings XI Punjab have blasted their way to 230/3 in 20 overs.

Wriddhiman Saha has been the star with the bat for the visitors. The keeper batsman mixed caution with aggression on his way to a brilliant 93 from 55.

Glenn Maxwell brought his A game out tonight as well. His devastating 47 off 21 in the middle broke MI's back.

It's KXIP's game to lose from here. Rohit Sharma summoned his players for a quick chat at the end of the innings, but it'll be one shocker if they end up winning tonight.

Meanwhile, Saha has silently carried on and reached a richly-deserved half-century.

The keeper-batsman has played a crucial hand for his side tonight. He must carry on if the visitors are to make a strong total on this high-scoring ground.

KXIP blaze away! MI have tried four different bowlers in the first four overs, and they all have been dealt with severely by Saha and Guptill.

After Pandya and McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga were brought into the attack by Rohit.

However, the two T20 specialists have been smashed to all parts of the ground by the visitiing batsmen.

KXIP have gotten off to a flying start! Hardik Pandya was surprisingly given the responsibility to bowl the first over, and the all-rounder was taken for 13 runs.

Mitchell McClenaghan bowls the second over and is taken to the cleaners too.
