For all of us, a major part of our childhood was spent watching cartoons like Scooby Doo, Tom n Jerry. We sat glued to the television after school, little did we know that we watched ads and subconsciously learnt them. Even today when we hear the names like Uma, Rekha, Jaya in one sentence the immediate association is the Nirma ad.
This week All India Bakchod has come out with a video which is a 'Tribute to Indian ads'. It is a video without any background score featuring Voctronica, an a capella and beat boxing group. AIB is one of India's noteworthy comedy groups which often does sketches on Youtube and also stand up comedy.This video is a mashup of all ads we have grown up watching right from Uncle Chips to Lifebuoy and Badshah Masala to Action shoes. The 3 minute video leaves you with a sense of nostalgia. These ads made us listen to them due to their catchy tunes, while today we just mute our TVs when advertisements begin.
