Many of us learnt the national anthem in school. Every morning however groggy we were, we stood up to sing it and even if we didn't know the exact words the last "Jaye He" was sung with extreme patriotism. However, how many of us actually know the meaning of our national anthem? With the run-up to the 68th Independence day, The Akanksha Foundation has come up with a video which highlights the meaning of our national anthem. The video starts off by saying that only 9 in 10 Indians know the meaning of the national anthem.

The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit which works towards providing education to children from an underprivileged background. It has 15 schools and centres across Pune and Mumbai. You can help out as well by volunteering or applying to be a teacher at one of their schools.
