In a recent press conference in Lucknow, Mayawati questioned Narendra Modi's caste. She also asked if he had done anything for the people of the backward classes. He has insulted the Dalit women with his cheap comments. Modi said that he is a wellwisher of the Dalits and later used vulgar statements while talking about the Dalit women, Mayawati told the press. She accused him of playing the caste card to gain votes. My party is planning to file a petition against this so that the election commission looks into the matter.
In India where caste politics is huge and nothing new, Modi's statements don't seem shocking.
