East India Comedy, one of India's foremost comedy groups' apology to Indian women definitely calls for a moment of introspection. The video starts off with an apology. An apology for being a woman in India. It goes on to highlight that India is the second most unsafe country, being worse than Saudi Arabia where women aren't even allowed to drive.
The video highlights a number of hardships Indian women face right from eve teasing to being blamed for being raped, from gender inequality at work to converting one's religion on being married. The video ends again on a note of apology but also a vow to uphold the rights of women, a vow for not letting women "apologise for being, wearing, walking, talking, expressing and being yourself."
