'Distribute grants to cow shelters at earliest', orders CM Gehlot

Reviewing the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries through a video conference Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot said the demand for milk products has been affected due to the lockdown. So, dairies should strengthen their marketing structure. Along with that we should explore options that can increase the income of cattle breeders and farmers. Chief Minister Gehlot also instructed the officials to distribute the grant given by the state government to the cow shelters as soon as possible. There should be no delay in this. The government has given a grant of around Rs 275 crore to the cow shelters. Cow shelter operators are suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic will get relief from it. During the meeting CM Gehlot also directed that more and more work should be started under MNREGA to provide employment to workers, farmers, agricultural labourers and cattle rearers who are suffering due to this pandemic. He also underlined that due to stray animals, the crops of farmers get destroyed and there is a risk of accidents. To overcome the problem of stray animals, strong arrangements should also be made.
