With the fierce Modi wave lashing the nation this election season, Banaras seems to be branding Modi on almost everything. From bricks to build houses to rotis served in restaurants, everything holds the Modi name.
Banaras, a place highly sensitive to elections has been showing signs of the Modi fever creeping into a majority of them. It is shocking how vegetable vendors have been selling vegetables cheaper than usual persuading people to vote for Modi. Bricks are being baked after being shaped in moulds with NaMo engraved on them.
And it is not very surprising how these Modi products are very much in demand. Even famous clothing brands have been creating customised Nehru jackets with 'Narendra Modi for pm' and the 'lotus' symbol embroidered on them. These jackets are in the saffron colour and are called 'Modi' jackets. These jackets are very much in demand and orders from accross the country have been coming in, says it's designer.
A restaurant in Banaras has been serving rotis with the Modi campaign slogan 'abki baar Modi sarkar'. The machine used to stamp the rotis with the slogan have been brought in specially from Delhi, said the restaurant owner.
