DNA spoke to people across India and asked them what they thought of the smoking ban that is to be implemented all across India on October 2nd.
Ban will surely help I support the ban proposed by the health minister. My friends are chain smokers and I find it very difficult to dissuade them from smoking. A stringent ban will not have severe repercussions for me but such rules need to be implemented as passive smoking is equally harmful. Smoking lounges as in Singapore and Bangkok can be really effective. It will be a little difficult for smokers but eventually will force them to quit. — Sachin Hemmady, proprietor of placement agency, Mumbai
