No two years are identical. Each year carries its own identity. Year 2011 has been among the most newsy years of recent times most often for the wrong reasons. But let us take a break and celebrate the year just gone by as one that differentiated itself in ways more than one. 2011 has been most of all a year that might well be termed as the trend-setting year not just in politics but across various walks of life. Trends reflect an evolving mindset that seeks and enjoys change with an open mind and firm conviction that nothing is permanent. This too shall pass!

Youth took to activism signaling a new high for a nation that prides itself in its demographic dividend. Issues varied but involvement was for real.

Justice for Ruchika in Chandigarh:

Former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore was accused of molesting 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra in 1990. Youngsters took to the streets calling the incident a shame on society.
