27 centuries-old carvings in Badami unearthed
As many as 27 images carved in stone have been discovered by a team of archaeologists in Badami, a World Heritage Site in Karnataka. Among the many artistic temples in Badami, the most prominent ones are the sandstone cave temples. The rock-cut cave temples, built between the 6th and 8th centuries by the Chalukyas, are dedicated to the deities of Hinduism and Jainism.
