Alleged misbehavior by the police towards the common public came into light, after a youth attempted suicide at Limbayat police station, on Sunday. Police officials harassed the youth so much - verbally and physically that led him to take the drastic step.

According to information, Rohit Singh 18, a resident of Sudarshan nagar in Dindoli attempted suicide by poking skew (used for breaking ice) in his stomach, at Limbayat police, late on Sunday evening. Singh, who was profusely bleeding was rushed to new civil hospital for treatment. He was discharged late in the night.

Explaining the reason for the act, family members said that a quarrel erupted in their locality on Sunday morning between two groups. Somebody in a group informed police and later lodged a complaint at the police station. He said that Manoj and his two other associates invoked the quarrel. To nab Manoj and his friends, cops searched the area, but instead held Singh and took him to the police station.

Singh, who works in a local embroidery unit, was harassed mentally by cops at the police station. Singh clarified that he did not knew Manoj, but still cops pressurized him to give hideout of Manoj.
