Youth crushed to death by a bus in UP

A youth was crushed to death by a private bus here today, triggering violence as angry people torched vehicles, including a police jeep, and indulged in heavy brick batting.

"Police had to use canes to disperse the unruly mob after Indresh Chakravarty (20) was crushed to death by a private bus in Pujariganj area this morning while on way to college," additional superintendent of police Sarvesh Kumar Rana said.

Indresh was a second year student at Kisan degree college.

Agitated over his death, locals torched a police jeep and a roadways bus and indulged in heavy brick-batting. The mob also demanded ex-gratia and job for the kin of the youth, he said.
