Apparently frustrated by excessive workload, a 29-year-old woman attempted suicide in city's Law Garden area on Sunday. The woman, an accountant by profession, took leave from her office and tried to end her work pressure by consuming a poisonous substance.

The woman (identity withheld) was working with Satyanarayan J Jadia & Sons located at CG Road. Cops said that after working for a couple of hours, she took leave and reached Law Garden where she consumed Baygon spray, the poisonous substance used for killing insects.

"She was fed up with her job as she had to work even during Diwali. So she consumed the poison," said JB Vaniya, sub inspector with Navrangpura police station.

Vaniya said that some passersby saw her lying barely conscious in the garden. She was rushed to VS Hospital. Vaniya said that the woman's condition is stable and she is out of danger.
